Among the famous Scottish Warriors that will make you stand up and take notice are Sir William Wallace, Rob Roy and Robert the Bruce.
William Wallace
Sir William Wallace wasn’t just a Scottish Warrior, which is no small feat in and of itself he was also a Scottish knight. He became one of the main leaders during the Wars of Scottish Independence. In September 1297, Wallace along with Andrew Murray defeated an English army at what is now known as the Battle of Sterling Bridge. He was then appointed Guardian of Scotland and remained so until July 1298 when he was defeated at the Battle of Falkirk.
Robert the Bruce
Robert the Bruce was definitely one of his generations most famous warriors. He led Scotland during the First War of Scottish Independence against England. During his reign as King of Scots from 1306 until he passed in 1329 he successfully fought to regain Scotland’s place as a country that is Independent. He is still revered today as a national hero in Scotland.
Robert Roy
Robert Roy MacGregor was baptized on March 7, 1961, and died on December 28, 1734. During his life he was known as a Scottish outlaw, however, he is now known as a Folk hero.
